Summary

kb2b Desktop records local audio from your meetings (microphone and system audio) when you explicitly start it. The audio is transcribed by our recording provider (Recall.ai, EU); the transcript is processed in the kb2b backend and stored in your workspace.

Retention

  • Raw audio: the recording provider’s copy (Recall.ai, EU) is deleted automatically after 168 hours (7 days) — and immediately when you delete the meeting. kb2b keeps an archived copy in its own storage (AWS, EU — eu-central-1) for as long as the meeting exists; deleting the meeting deletes it too.
  • Transcripts: kept for as long as the meeting exists; deleting the meeting deletes them too.
  • Extracted facts: kept while your knowledge base (POT) exists; deleted when you delete the meeting.

Deletion

Deleting a meeting from the app permanently deletes its transcript and all extracted facts (including their search embeddings) from the knowledge base, the archived audio and raw transcript from kb2b storage, and the provider’s copy on Recall.ai. Deleted data also leaves backups as they expire, within 35 days at most. The user who starts the recording is responsible for informing and obtaining consent from the other participants per applicable jurisdiction. kb2b shows a visible indicator on macOS when a recording is active. Rest of legal content pending — will be generated from the canonical page.
